Inspired Home Scents for 2025
By Joyce Azria
Growing up “Azria” I was always moved by the smells of Mediterranean cooking, fresh herbs and magic candles burning in the entryway. The power of scent is energetic and grounding. Here is a list of my personal picks for 2025.
1. Figuier by Diptyque
The Icon of Effortless Chic
This will forever be my scent. Green, milky fig leaves with a woody base—it’s Mediterranean summer in a glass. I keep it in my kitchen because it’s light, clean, and grounding. When I walk into a home and catch a note of Figuier, I instantly know someone with great taste lives there. Classic. Understated. Endlessly cool.
Best For: Kitchens, entryways, guest bathrooms
Why I Love It: It smells like Capri mornings and barefoot elegance.
2. Hermès Maison Scented Candles (Tuyaux de Rose or Fenêtre Ouverte)
The Haute Couture of Home Fragrance
Hermès doesn’t just make handbags—they craft atmospheres. Their home candles feel like poetry. My favorite this year? Fenêtre Ouverte, which translates to “open window”—a breezy mix of soft florals, citrus, and sunshine. I burn it in my dressing room while getting ready or during styling sessions with clients.
Best For: Walk-in closets, powder rooms, private moments
Why I Love It: Feminine and fresh, it smells like a daydream in Paris.
3. Trudon “Abd El Kader”
The Scent of Storytelling
This is not your minimalist scent—it’s layered, spicy, and completely transportive. Think Moroccan mint tea, ginger, clove, and a warm breeze rolling off the desert. I use this in libraries or dens—it sets a tone of depth and richness that pairs perfectly with vintage leather and a stack of art books.
Best For: Home offices, studies, masculine spaces
Why I Love It: It smells like intellectual seduction.
4. Loewe Home Scents — “Tomato Leaves”
The Unexpected Favorite
You wouldn’t think tomato leaves would smell so chic—but Loewe makes it happen. It’s green, slightly herbal, and wildly fresh. There’s something almost avant-garde about it. I use it in my garden room and sometimes even in my showings—it sparks conversation and makes people feel something unexpected.
Best For: Sunrooms, greenhouses, creative spaces
Why I Love It: It’s nature, with a side of runway.
5. Byredo Tree House
Earthy, Elevated, and Endlessly Cool
This scent is like the architectural version of scent—clean, composed, and full of soul. Cedar, bamboo, sandalwood… it’s grounded, androgynous, and comforting. It’s the scent I imagine in a quiet Bal Harbour penthouse at golden hour.
Best For: Living rooms, meditation spaces, master suites
Why I Love It: It’s like incense for the design-obsessed.
The Final Touch
Whether I’m dressing a space or dressing myself, scent is always the final accessory. It’s emotional, intentional, and unforgettable. So in 2025, go ahead—burn the good candle. Spray the linen mist. And let your home speak before you say a word.
Scentfully yours,
Joyce
